"The order is for 12 Gillig CNC buses to replace current Diesel buses, said Ashley Seman, MMVTA Executive Director. "Currently, our fleet consists of 12 Diesel/ Gasoline Buses and 18 CNC buses." Seman said the new buses are scheduled to arrive in September, and MMVTA will have a cost saving of around $60,000 per year with a full CNG fleet. Seman said MMVTA added a CNC fueling station several years back. "This would allow us to utilize the fueling station completely," she said. MMVTA's Vision is to increase access to opportunities and stimulate growth and revitalization in the Mid Mon Valley communities. Its mission is to effectively service Mon Valley communities with mobility to its citizens by providing safe, reliable, efficient and coordinated. public transportation services, using new technology, caring employees and strategic partnerships. Seman said another change to MMVTA is the future" addition of onboard electric signs to buses. "Buses have been equipped with an onboard electronic sign," she said. "The signs do display the "now approaching stop location at the top, along with the next three stops that the bus will be traveling. And this is all in real-time. The signs also display the weather, the current time, and an option for future advertising can be displayed on them as well." Seman said six signs have been installed at local shelter locations as well. "The signs display real-time information for when the next bus will be arriving per route," she said. "For example, it will list the next Commuter A or Local 1 that is scheduled to arrive at that shelter." Seman said the new electronic signs are now available at the following bus stop locations: North Charleroi: Transit Center Charleroi: McKean & 1st Donora: Meldon & 6th L1 L2 CNG 12:41 Monongahela: Main & 1st (Sheetz) Rostraver: Walmart Calu/Pennwest: Hickory & 3rd "The signs also have an ADA feature, Riders can push a button to have the sign announce schedule information in three different languages.
