East Washington Ceremony on March 22, 2021, Mayor Mike Gomber took the final step to commence the community safety project by shoveling earth. This project started 3 ½ years ago when Mayor received Penn Dot guidance in project and secured ARLE grant money for total project cost. Beau Street is a high traffic road that tansverses the East Washington community. For safety of students and residents a school flashing light is being installed to operate during school hours. Unused ARLE Grant funds from initial grant has allowed East Washington to also install permanent an electric digital speed monitoring device which will be approved by Penn Dot. This devise will be included to work 24/7 to alert drivers how fast they are traveling in a four block area, which should aid in slowing traffic down This East Washington project was made possible with help Representative Tim O'Neal, Cliff Eich from Trans Associates Engineering, Mayor Mike Gomber, Chief Dave Bradley, Shawn Business Manager Bethel Park and Chief Jerry Coleman. The ARLE Grant financed this East Washington project 100%. We had no EW Borough expense.
