Thank You Congressman Guy Reschenthaler We at Prevent Opioid Abuse, a national organization working to educate patients and parents about the risks of opioid-based pain relievers and the availability of non-opioid alternatives, thank Congressman Guy Reschenthaler for cosponsoring the Opioid Patients' Right to Know Act-bipartisan legislation that will tackle the opioid epidemic at the source, helping prevent people from becoming dependent on opioids in the first place (H1185). THE OPIOID PATIENTS' RIGHT TO KNOW ACT WILL: Incentivize states to require doctors and other prescribers to warn patients about the risks of addiction and discuss non-opioid pain relief alternatives in real time-right before an opioid is prescribed for acute pain. Provide funding for safe prescribing to states that adopt the policy. Ensure that more Americans are provided with this timely, life-saving information that studies show is driving down the number of new patients starting on opioids in the states that are requiring medical practitioners to provide it. With the rise in opioid dependence and addiction stemming from the impacts of COVID-19, Congressman Reschenthaler's leadership on providing all the tools we need to curb the opioid epidemic is more important than ever: PREVENT OPIOID ABUSE For more information, visit: www.preventopioidabuse.org Thank You Congressman Guy Reschenthaler We at Prevent Opioid Abuse, a national organization working to educate patients and parents about the risks of opioid-based pain relievers and the availability of non-opioid alternatives, thank Congressman Guy Reschenthaler for cosponsoring the Opioid Patients' Right to Know Act-bipartisan legislation that will tackle the opioid epidemic at the source, helping prevent people from becoming dependent on opioids in the first place (H1185).
