BULGER FACILITY SMITH AND ROBINSON TOWNSHIPS, WASHINGTON COUNTY I COUNTY NOTICE OF PERMIT APPLICATION SUBMITTAL FOR PROPOSED RESIDUAL WASTE LANDFILL MAX Environmental Technologies is resubmitting an application to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for a proposed residual waste landfill and continued operation of its residual waste treatment facilities at 200 MAX Drive, Bulger, PA 15019. The proposed facility will include an approximate 20-acre lined disposal area adjacent to and overtop part of existing Impoundment No. 1, which will require modification to the Impoundment No. 1 cap. The facility will have a liner system and will accept wastes that meet the requirements for disposal in a Class I Residual Waste landfill. Some wastes received at the facility may require processing prior to disposal to meet the requirements. The application will contain further details of the proposed facility, including proposed design alternatives for the liner system, spacing between final terraces, subbase, leachate detection/collection system, protective cover aggregate, final cover drainage system, and alternative daily and intermediate covers. Copies of the revised application will be on file for review at DEP's Pittsburgh Office. Copies will also be provided to the Smith Township Supervisors and will be placed in the information repository for this project at Heritage Library in McDonald, PA.
