On March 27th Angelo's Restau- rant will celebrate it's 83rd an- niversary. The longevity of our existence is never lost on me. From our humble beginnings on West Chestnut Street, where Celebrating 83 Years That in itself is humbling and we are so honored. We have been the site of countless first dates, first birthdays, engagements, re- unions, family gatherings, busi- ness lunches and get togethers of my grandparents opened a small tavern to today, to our 13th year in our North Franklin location, we are humbled and honored to have served our community through three generations of my family. all kinds and If I were to guess, I would think more than a million people have passed through our doors. angelo's My grandparents operated the business from 1939 to 1958. My grandfather Angelo died in 1953. My grand- mother Giacomina operated the restaurant with my dad Silvio and my Aunt Carmelina. I never take any of this for granted. I am so thankful for it and feel blessed every day. These days we have the great- est management team and service staff. Our culinary crew is a team of dedicated, awesome professionals. Of course I am biased but I believe our 55 employees are the best in the area. restaurant In 1958 my grandmother retired and the business was turned over to my dad and aunt. Est. 1939 In 1981 my aunt retired and my dad became sole owner. I left my job as a police officer at Kent State University and returned home to work with my dad. My sister Toni also came aboard. Over the next few years we transformed Angelo's from basic Italian to in- clude more modern dishes and service. My sister left for Colorado in 1988 and my dad and mom retired in 1992, when I became the owner. Of course none of any of this is possible without the sup- port of the public. There are many dining choices in the area these days and when folks choose Angelo's and keep choosing Angelo's year to year, we can only be humbled and thankful for the patronage and loyalty. None of what we do can happen without you. And on this 83rd Anniversary, I just want to make sure I thank the community for your support and thank our staff for the amazing job they do. I have operated the business since 1992 and moved it to North Franklin Drive in 2008. We doubled our size, with great outdoor dining, a spacious bar, house made gelato, ample private dining and off premise catering. You have my pledge that we keep working hard, never settling, never guests deserve to be treated "like guests in an Italian families home" lowering our standards and doing our best to be better everyday.
