These Court Appointed Special Advocates, or CASA Volunteers, are trained to fulfil this important role and are then assigned one case which involves one family. These volunteers work as fact-finders by developing a relationship with the child, their family and others who touch their lives. Volunteers write reports for the judge prior to a hearing, working as that extra set of "eyes and ears" to provide the judge with as much information as possible prior to the judge rendering a decision.
