This year, the Historical Society will be honoring The Northrop Family Leaders in community-focused publishing, the Northrop family owned and operated the Observer Publishing Company for four generations. Jeanne Marie Laskas - An author, feature writer and professor Ms. Laskas's work includes the New York Times bestseller Concussion, the basis for the Golden-Globe-nominated film. received praise for his ability to combine remarkable glimpses of history with Western Pennsylvania landscapes and posthumous honorees Delvin Miller (1913-1996) - A harness racing legend, Mr. Miller had a career spanning eight decades, winning 2,442 races and more than $11 ion Dr. Jonathan Letterman (1824-1872) A native of Canonsburg Dr. Lettrman instituted numerous advances in batlefield medicine as the medical director of the Army of the Potomac.
