CASA Court Appointed Special Advocates FOR CHILDREN CASA OF GREENE COUNTY Dear Greene County, CASA of Greene County began its mission of serving our most vulnerable children in 2018. Since that time our volunteer advocates have advocated for 39 children in the Greene County court system. These children, the victims of abuse and neglect, have benefited from CASAS service by continually having one person who is completely devoted to making recommendations in their best interests. CASAS volunteer advocates are court ordered to carry out first person investigations into the assigned child's home environment, school reports, physical and mental health records, and family dynamics. The findings of these investigations help the CASA to complete a court report that makes recommendations based on their findings. Advocates are respected by the court for the time and energy given to cach child. Advocates are appreciated by the kids, who know they have someone with them in court who is tasked with looking out for their wellbeing. It is time to expand CASA of Greene County's capacity, and we can only accomplish that with your help. Have you ever wanted to give back to the Greene County community that has given us all so much? Now is your chance. We are now accepting applications for our September volunteer training program. If you would like the opportunity to change a child's story, please contaca CASA with the information listed below, On average, there are 120 children involved with the Dependency Court system in Greene County. That number is high above the state average and does not represent the Greene County that we all want. As a nonprofit 501(c)(3), CASA of Greene County must continue to grow in order to thrive.
