JOIN OUR TEAM The Herald-Standard a 10,000 daily circulation newspaper south of Pittsburgh in Southwestern Pennsylvania, is seeking a GENERAL ASSIGNMENT REPORTER capable of writing across multiple publishing platforms. A bachelor's degree and two years' experience at a newspaper are required. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with solid reporting and writing skills, capable of writing on deadline. General assignments include coverage of municipal government, school boards and breaking news as well as feature stories and enterprise pieces. Experience in courts a plus. Basic photography, computer and social media skills are essential. Shifts vary and are dependent upon assignments. Some night and weekend work is included, as well as some holidays.
