Safely get the care you need in our community. Dear Valued Patient: You have always reltied on Monongahela Valley Hospital to provide innovative and safe care to manage your health and wellness. Now is no exception. While the health crisis may have prevented you from seeking care, you should never delay necessary medical care out of fear. What may be easily treatable today, may require extensive interventions if left untreated. Everyone has been living with a great deal of uncertainty during the past two months; however, in our community the one aspect of life that remains unchanged is MVH's commitment to deliver high quality care in a safe environment. We were very fortunate that the COVID-19 pandemic had a minimal impact on the mid-Mon Valley area and particularly our hospital. Although we had very few cases, we were well prepared. For more than 40 years, we have been treating people with a host of illnesses that require safety measures; and, we always follow the procedures and protocols in place for the safety of our patients, visitors and employees. When you visit, you can expect the safety precautions outlined below. Screening - Our staff follows the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines to assess a person's health, including temperature checks and monitoring questions, before treatment is provided or they gain access to visit inpatients. If testing is warranted for patients, we have an isolated area where the tests are performed, visitors cannot enter and are instructed to contact their physicians for directions on how to proceed for testing. Safety - When you visit our Emergency Department, we make every attempt to take you back to a treatment room immediately. The Waiting Room has been rearranged for adequate social distancing. In addition, MVH has a sufhcient supply of personal protective equipment to ensure your safety. Our staff wears appropriate equipment including masks and gloves - every patient - every time. Sanitizing - Patients and staff are required to practice hand hygiene. Disinfectant measures are still performed after every patient visit; and, public areas are continually cleaned and sanitized for your protection. We always want you to come to us with the confidence that your health, welness and safety are our primary concern. You should expect no less. Sincerely. Louis J. Panza Jr. L.
