Monongahela Valley Hospital Congratulates Thad Osowski, M.D. 2021 Sickman-Levin Award for Dimensions in Medicine U ntil recently, the bottom drawer of Dr. Thad Osowski's desk was filled with thank you cards from appreciative patients. He had to take them home because there were so many the drawer would no longer close. In his house, he has a signed picture of President George H.W. Bush and his wife, Barbara, which was sent to him along with an invitation for a private tour of the White House after Dr. Osowski unknowingly provided care to the father of a White House nurse whose family lived in the Valley. Some patients bring him homemade Polish sausage and homegrown tomatoes; and, he even once received a fried turkey. Most people would never think to send a card or deliver food to their anesthesiologist, but Dr. Osowski makes a lasting impression on his patients. For the care he provides to patients, the guidance and support he gives to his colleagues and his dedication to Monongahela Valley Hospital's medical staff, Dr. Osowski is the recipient of the 2021 Sickman-Levin Award for Dimensions in Medicine.
